A large basalt paving stone with a length of 20 cm, width of 10 cm and height of 10 cm (20x10x10) is actually a cobblestone. Such products are produced directly near the basalt quarry, which positively affects its price. Each cobblestone is chiselled by hand – this is the main feature of the fully chiselled basalt paving stone. It cannot be produced by hydraulic stone presses. The weight of each such stone is from 5 to 6 kilograms. The front side of the stone has a format of 20×10 cm. The lower edge is narrower. This makes it possible to identify which side is the front without any errors.
Installation of large basalt paving stone 20x10x10
It should be noted at once that such paving stones are produced precisely to make it possible to pave directly into the ground. In other words, due to the large weight of each stone, a pavement made of such a paving stone, even without base and cement, will serve for a long time. However, if such basalt paving will be heavily trafficked by heavy vehicles, it is reasonable to organise a base of sand and crushed stone or concrete.
The installation of such basalt paving stones ‘directly into the ground’ has a number of advantages:
- rain and melt water will drain between the joints;
- if wide joints are used, grass can be sown into them;
- the cost of installation in this way is the least expensive.
Packing, delivery and price of basalt cobbles 20x10x10
Such large-sized paving stones are packed in big-bags. The weight of each is approximately 1.5 tonnes. When selecting transport for delivery, it should be remembered that one tonne of such products contains about 4 m2 of usable space. We deliver to various cities in Poland mainly by trucks of 22 tonnes. For large construction projects we can deliver by railway wagons. One standard 22 tonne truck can hold up to 90 m2 of paving stones. If you need to buy less than 90 m2, then the delivery is rationally made by a car designed for 10 tonnes. Then the delivery batch will be about 45 m2. For wholesale buyers it will be convenient to deliver directly from the production site: Ukraine, Kostopol, on FCA terms.
