To date, Gabbro stone is mined in more than 40 quarries. Basically, deposits of this material are located in the Zhytomyr region, Ukraine.

Sawn Gabbro paving stone has a dark gray or even black color, depending on the processing. It is excellent for paving streets and squares. This paving stone is combined with all known shades of granite paving stones and paving slabs, since its color is universal. It can also be combined not only in color, but also in texture, sawn paving stones with elements, inserts of chipped or tumbled paving stones will look great. To give additional decorativeness, the stone can be heat-treated. Shiny smooth bars have a very attractive appearance and do not slip, unlike polished tiles.

Full sawn pavers have many advantages compared to any other:

  • smooth surface on all sides;
  • perfectly even seam when laying;
  • universal, it can be combined with any shades of stone.

How to lay sawn pavers from Gabbro

Laying of sawn Gabbro pavers depends mainly on the overall design. It can be laid almost close, without wide gaps, creating interesting patterns in the form of arcs, circles, triangles and zigzags. Such material is suitable for paving perfectly flat areas: patios, recreation areas, parking spaces, garden and park paths. It is advisable not to lay paving stones close to the walls of buildings, leaving a strip of lawn. This will protect the coating during dismantling, reconstruction or repair of the house.

Stone paving stones can be laid on a pebble pillow or a concrete base. The first option is suitable for garden paths, patios and other places that do not experience increased mechanical stress. Driveways and parking spaces for cars are best created on a durable and wear-resistant concrete substrate. Recommended base thickness for Gabbro pavers is from 7 cm to 20 cm.

One of the most common options is to mix sawn Gabbro pavers with large slabs of the same kind of stone or any other shade of granite.
