Material selection process

The client approached us with a request to select a reliable stone for landscaping the property. Initially, several Ukrainian granites were considered: gabbro, labradorite, Star of Ukraine granite, and Flower of Ukraine. There was also an idea to combine light stone with black gabbro to create patterns, but eventually the client opted for a monochromatic solution.

To make a final decision, the client personally visited our office in Ukraine. We provided samples of several types of paving stones so they could evaluate the material directly on-site. This allowed them to see how the stone looks in natural lighting and in combination with the facade and surroundings.

Technical specifications

The paving design was inspired by ideas from Pinterest: the client chose a combination of formats to create a modern visual effect.

• Paving stones 10×10×4 cm (sawn-split):
  • Feature: natural split surface on top, sawn sides.
  • Advantage: excellent anti-slip properties and tight installation with minimal joints.
• Paving stones 20×10×3 cm (fully sawn):
  • Feature: precise geometry with a thermal (flamed) surface.
  • Role in design: used along the perimeter to create a clean visual frame.
• Granite curbs 30×15 cm (flamed): 30х15 см:
  • Technical role: not only define zones visually, but also act as a structural lock, preventing movement and joint washout under load and weather conditions.
