Tumbled sawn-split paving setts, 30 mm thick, made from Flower of Ukraine granite, are an excellent design solution for creating the atmosphere of an old European city at a minimal budget. As direct manufacturers, we are pleased to share the exact production process:
- At the first stage, we source granite blocks from Ukrainian quarries under the commercial name Flower of Ukraine, known for its warm brown, reddish, and red-brown natural tones. These blocks are cut into slabs 10 cm thick using large industrial stone saws.
- Next, the 10 cm slabs are cut into strips 10 cm wide, creating precise semi-finished elements with stable geometry.
- From these prepared blanks, the stone is then split into paving setts with a thickness of 30 mm and a standard face size of 10×10 cm. The splitting process creates naturally textured surfaces while maintaining relatively straight edges formed by sawing and splitting.
- The final stage is tumbling. The setts are loaded into a rotating drum, where continuous movement gently rounds the edges and corners of each stone. This process gives the paving its soft, aged appearance typical of historic European streets.
As a result of this carefully controlled production sequence, we obtain tumbled Flower of Ukraine granite setts with warm reddish-brown tones. Their surface is naturally textured and non-slip, while the softened edges create the impression of stone that has been part of historic city streets for centuries.
