Tumbled (sawn-split) cobblestone with a thickness of 30 mm made from brown Leopard granite is an excellent solution for recreating the atmosphere of an old European town at an affordable price. As a direct manufacturer, we are pleased to share the exact production process.
- Step 1: Cutting the Granite Blocks
We carefully select Leopard granite blocks, known for their noble brown, red, and black speckled appearance. Using large stone-cutting machines, the blocks are sawn into slabs with a thickness of 10 cm. - Step 2: Cutting into Strips
The 10 cm thick slabs are then cut lengthwise into strips 10 cm wide. This process creates smooth and perfectly even side faces for the future cobblestones. - Step 3: Splitting on a Hydraulic Stone Splitter
The granite strips are fed into a hydraulic stone-splitting machine, which splits them into pieces 30 mm thick (with a standard surface size of 10×10 cm). During this process, the natural textured top and bottom surfaces of the stone are formed. - Step 4: Tumbling (Final Finishing)
At the final stage, the cobblestones are placed in a special tumbling drum. During rotation, sharp edges and corners are rounded off, giving the stone its distinctive “Old Town” appearance.
The Final Result
Thanks to this carefully controlled manufacturing process, we produce tumbled cobblestones in attractive red-brown-black shades.
Key Advantage: perfectly sawn side faces allow the cobblestones to be installed tightly and neatly with minimal joints. At the same time, the split and tumbled top surface provides excellent walking comfort and outstanding slip resistance in all weather conditions. The softened edges create the impression that the stone has adorned historic European squares and streets for centuries.
